your journey
BECOMING A KUNDALINI YOGA TEACHER
In The Garden, teacher training is not treated simply as the accumulation of information or the completion of a certification. Over seven months, you study the full Level One curriculum while also developing the person who will carry those teachings into the room.
A LIVED PRACTICE
Through sustained practice, meditation, sadhana, teaching, feedback and the experience of training in community, you begin to notice how you listen, how you respond, how you hold attention, how you relate to others, and what happens within you when you are asked to lead.TEACHER FORMATION
Learning to teach is more than learning what to say or how to sequence a class. Over the course of the training, you begin to develop the presence, discernment and steadiness required to lead others well. Through practice, observation, teaching and feedback, you learn how to listen more closely, respond with greater awareness and create a space in which students can have their own experience of the practice.LEARN THROUGH TEACHING
There is a difference between understanding a teaching for yourself and being able to communicate it clearly to someone else. Through practice teaching and feedback, you learn to clarify your understanding, strengthen your communication, and turn what you know into something another person can actually receive.“I loved this course. This is a great course to learn about Kundalini Yoga and yourself. It’s well paced. I also felt like the teachers wanted you to do well in the course and supported me a lot.”
— Courtney D
A KRI LEVEL ONE CURRICULUM
The KRI Level One curriculum is organised around 7 pillars of study spanning practice, philosophy, meditation, teaching, yogic lifestyle, anatomy, and sound. Together, they form one integrated training.
-
The theory and practice of Kundalini Yoga, including kriyas, asanas, mudras, meditations, mantras, and pranayama.
-
The evolution of the yogic tradition and the philosophical foundations that inform the practice of Kundalini Yoga.
-
An exploration of the mind, meditation, and the ways awareness can be trained and refined through practice.
-
The practical skills of teaching, including how to guide beginners, structure a class, communicate clearly, work ethically, and develop confidence in the role of teacher.
-
How yogic principles meet everyday life, including habits, relationships, self-discipline, lifestyle, and the ongoing practice of living what you study.
-
Western anatomy alongside the yogic understanding of the body and energy systems, giving you a fuller framework for practice and teaching.
-
The use of mantra, sound, rhythm, and vibration in Kundalini Yoga, and their relationship to meditation, awareness, and the experience of practice.cription
